Ground Turkey Italian Sausage (homemade, lower sodium)

Recipe serves four

Ingredients

15 oz Perdue or Shady Brook Farms, 97% fat free, ground turkey (or equivalent)

olive oil cooking spray

1 tbl ground sage

2 egg whites

2 slices of lite whole wheat bread (40 cals per slice) crumbled into fine bread crumbs

1 tsp dried oregano

¼ tsp thyme

½ tbl parseley

½ tsp onion flakes or dried, chopped onion

tbl finely chopped green bell pepper (optional)

salt to taste

Directions

Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Spray pan with cooking spray.

Mix all ingredients thoroughly. Form four large oblong patties. Place patties in pan and bake in oven for 20 to 25 minutes. Turn while baking to brown on all sides.
